Description
My partner and I (Glenda and Rob- sometimes know as ;-) Bob), are well into our 60s and still passionate about our wonderful country. We live in the Adelaide Hills on a beautiful plot (Clarendon). We have also just bought a property ON THE BEACH! at False Bay, South Australia.
We enjoy birds, skinks and frequent koala visits, with even the occasional echidna or wombat popping in!
We are about 20 minutes drive from beautiful swimming beaches, 20 minute drive from amazing wineries, and just 30 minutes from the City centre of Adelaide with wonderful galleries, museums, shopping, sporting and arts events.
As my partner and I are not 'young 'uns' anymore, we really appreciate some help in the garden, and occasionally a little help with household duties.
We both still work in employment 5 days per week so coming with a partner or friend will mean you have lots of time after jobs each day to just relax and enjoy your own free time together.
We like to do a solid Saturday of gardening and do fun outings on Sundays. On week days you can do a couple of hours quietly working on projects in the garden, independently visit many wonderful places for yourselves, and join us again in the evening.
We really enjoy meeting people from other countries, (we especially love Germany culture!), sharing our lovely corner of the earth with you all, and getting to hear all about your experiences. If you are happy to dig in and help us out, we're happy to help you to a great Aussie experience.

FALSE BAY:
Rob and I are also very fortunate to have just bought ourselves a beautiful piece of land right on the beach, at False Bay near Whyalla, South Australia. It is quite a secluded spot, on the beach front. If you look at our profile you will see our usual home in Clarendon, AND some quite different photos which are of our False Bay ‘shack’. From time to time we may have an opportunity for people in a van or tenting, to stay with us there too, right on the beach.

We are experienced gardeners and try to be as self sufficient as possible. There is still some work to do before we achieve this, but we love to share our knowledge and experience of gardening and living as independently as we can, as we have done in a previous home. We are mostly natural/organic/permaculturalists, rarely we will resort to tougher measures.
We are also very skilled in renovations and building.
We are also well travelled in Australia and can share our knowledge and experience of this wonderful land.Help

Clarendon; Queen sized bed in a private bedroom for one or two people. Perhaps a single bed in the studio. A child's bedroom. The available accommodation depends on when your visit occurs. If you are coming for a False Bay adventure, only people with their own sleeping vehicle or tent can be accepted.
What else ...
There is no easy public transport to our home, but we are only about 10 minute drive from local shopping and amenities and both Rob and I can collect you and take you into public transport easily from our home. There is a small general store just a five minute walk away from our home. Ideally though, you will have your own car.
Clarendon is a beautiful area and yet is very conveniently located to take advantage of the many beautiful sights and experiences in South Australia.
We live life very relaxed. Both my partner and I both still work, but we prefer to be out in the garden and to live a simple life! We thoroughly enjoy meeting new people.
Due to our significant dietary requirements, we would support you to organize your meals yourself. We can take you to the supermarket. You are welcome to use our kitchen, and we have plenty of basics (salt, herbs, spices, flour etc) and sometimes loads of garden produce you can use.
Our exchange arrangement is 2 hours of work, per person, per day. We are quite relaxed about the arrangement for when you do the hours of work however, and can fit in with other work or plans. :-)A little more information
